Kelly Crotty

  1. My name is Kelly and I am a community pharmacist from Ottawa. I have been volunteering with CACHA since 2013 and this year will be my sixth time returning to Ukerewe Island for the fall medical caravan. Volunteering here has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I feel very privileged to be able to return.

In partnership with local Tanzanian organizations and clinicians we deliver essential medical services to rural communities on Ukerewe Island including primary care consultations, dental care and extractions, vision care, HIV testing, referrals for surgery at Nansio Hospital and dispensing medications.

I am committed to paying all my own costs, but I am fundraising in order to contribute to our overall mission costs. These will include medical equipment & supplies, medications, stipends for our local Ukerewe partners and clinicians, hospital and laboratory costs and more. Any donation is greatly appreciated and it will go a long way in helping us to achieve our goals.

I love talking about Ukerewe Island, CACHA and the wonderful experiences I have had there. If you have any questions or are thinking about joining us, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]

The individuals on these pages are raising funds in support of CACHA’s mission. The funds are given to CACHA to defray the costs of participation in, and supplies for, the mission, and not for the personal benefit of any participant. CACHA retains control over the use of all donated funds. Once the needs for the program have been met, or cannot be completed for any reason, any remaining contributions will be used where needed most.
