Ggoli Health Centre in Kamengo, Mpigi District Uganda is a private not for profit health centre. It serves a total population of 35,854 people and refers its patients to Nkozi hospital, 35km away and Rubaga hospital, 45kms away. The health centre offers both curative and preventive services to both in and out patients, laboratory services, dental services, treatment of HIV/AIDS patients, counselling and immunization. It also offers maternity services both prenatal and postnatal care.
Most residents are subsistence farmers on small plots of land. It is without saying that access to healthcare remains a major challenge in the area and the health centre lacks a great deal when it comes to equipment/machines like an ultrasound scan.
The heath centre has made a humble proposal requesting assistance with an ultrasound scan which will help many mothers, especially new mothers, and eliminate the need to travel to Kampala. The cost for the desired ultrasound scan, plus accessories, is $8,679 and the good news is someone is willing to match whatever amount is raise by May 28, 2021.
It will be awhile before the annual CACHA medical mission can happen again at Ggoli Health Centre but we can still be helpful especially during these difficult and uncertain times. Please help but ONLY if you are in a position to help and stay safe until our world meets again.
