Sandra Gignac

Hello

I am a retired Nurse and I am excited to be going on my first medical mission to Kamengo, Uganda in March 2025.

I am joining forces with other team members of the Canadian African Community Health Alliance(CACHA), a non governmental, not for profit organization.

This mission aims to provide free primary medical care and health education to local communities.  We will be working alongside local healthcare workers to deliver services such as medicines, vaccinations, dental care, and health screenings.

To make this mission possible I am seeking sponsorship to help cover the costs of travel, supplies and accommodations.

Over the years, I have been a Home Economics Teacher in Sierra Leone to an ICU Nurse both in the USA and in Ottawa.  These experiences have helped shaped my understanding of health, education and service. I am passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others and to me this is an incredible opportunity.

As I look back on my life journey, I realize that I have spent a lot of my life caring for patients but I never took the opportunity to embark on a medical mission.   It is something I have always wanted to do.  Now, in my retirement, I am ready to embrace that calling and I am thrilled that CACHA has given me this opportunity to participate.

Funds donated will be appreciated and will be used not only in support of my contribution but also for a number of mission related expenses, some of which will include medical/dental supplies, medications, translation services, logistics etc.

I would be grateful for any contribution you could make and it would be invaluable in helping us in improving the level of healthcare of those less fortunate than ourselves

CACHA is a registered charity organization and tax receipts will be issued.

Thank you in advance for your support.

The individuals on these pages are raising funds in support of CACHA’s mission. The funds are given to CACHA to defray the costs of participation in, and supplies for, the mission, and not for the personal benefit of any participant. CACHA retains control over the use of all donated funds. Once the needs for the program have been met, or cannot be completed for any reason, any remaining contributions will be used where needed most.
