Nathaniel Winata

I am excited to be a part of my first volunteer medical mission with Canada-Africa Community Health Alliance (CACHA) this upcoming February 2025 in Terrat, Tanzania after 10 years of a pause in doing humanitarian work. My last humanitarian mission was in Zomba, Malawi with Dignitas International in 2015.

I completed my Bachelors of Arts & Science at McGill University, an MD at the University of Toronto and then my Family Medicine Residency at the University of Calgary (U of C). Afterwards, I did additional fellowship training in Global Health, HIV, and Addictions through U of C and University of British Columbia.

CACHA is a non-governmental non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health and educational outcomes of those most vulnerable in the African continent. Their countries of focus include Tanzania, Uganda, Bénin and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I hope to provide team-based culturally safe medical care and health education while working alongside our Tanzanian partners. We hope to raise funds to support the mission which will include medical and logistics equipment. We appreciate any donation as our team is self-funded. CACHA is a registered charity and will issue tax receipts.

The individuals on these pages are raising funds in support of CACHA’s mission. The funds are given to CACHA to defray the costs of participation in, and supplies for, the mission, and not for the personal benefit of any participant. CACHA retains control over the use of all donated funds. Once the needs for the program have been met, or cannot be completed for any reason, any remaining contributions will be used where needed most.
